Casa Laryssiou. Can also be rented together with the Laryssiou Suite, which is located on the ground floor. The house is built against a hill, with the living area on the upper floor accessible via a staircase at the side of the house. It is a loft apartment with one bedroom featuring a double box-spring bed, an open-plan bathroom, and a large living room with two single sofa beds (85cm x 1.90cm), as well as a crib. The rental includes one small and one large towel per person, as well as a beach towel in the summer months. Cosmote TV is provided. In case of loss of the key, a fee of 25 euros will be charged, payable in cash to the hostess. The kitchen, fully equipped, is located on the back terrace in a separate building, as was customary in Greece in the past. Please do not feed cats at our property; residents have set up feeding stations in the street. The house has a very large front terrace with a view of the island of Marathonisi. Casa Laryssiou is the ideal starting point for exploring the Peloponnese, Mani, Gerolimenas, Limeni, Stoupa, Areopoli, but also Momenvasia, Neapolis, from where you can take the ferry to Kythira.

We are Linda and Erwin Beenaerts-Huysmans, living in the Kempen in Belgium. And have a very nice hostess in Gythio. During a vacation in Greece we arrived in the village of Gythio in Laconia, Peloponnese, and found our dream location, fell in love with the harbor and the peace that people find there. Are now also grandparents and also want our grandchildren to experience Greek life. Also have a chihuahua, named Herbie, this is already 12 years old and does not travel to our house in Gythio. Hopefully you will have as much fun as we have in the Peloponnese.

Gythio (Lakonia) Githio is the largest city of "the Mani"; the middle arm of the southern Peloponnese is named after the castle of Mainia. It is located in the Lakonia department. In the north of the city you can see the ruins of the ancient Acropolis and the theater along with traces of Roman buildings. The island of Kranai or Marathonisi, now reunited with Gythio, would be the place where Helena and Paris (the son of the king of Troy) spent their first night after running away from Menelaus. This would have been the reason for the Trojan War. The center of the island is dominated by the Tzannetakis tower. When I visited Gythio I was impressed by the many terraces on the water. The summer evenings are very pleasant here: you can wander around on the boulevard near the harbor or have a drink or eat in the many restaurants.
