This is a Lindian house built in the early 20th century, as evidenced by the date - March 1, 1917 - on the pebbled floor of the sitting room (sala). Built according to the unique lindian typology of the time , went through periods of prosperity and decline. Recently renovated and now containing three independent accommodation areas while retaining its simplicity and beauty, the main features of the local architecture. Situated in a quiet neibourghood of Lindos is a place to relax and enjoy. We fell in love with this house from the first moment. When repaired we learned a very beautiful story about it. In the 60s, when travelers began to visit Lindos, it was the residence of the German writer Hans Limmer and his family. There he wrote the children's book "Mein Esel Benjamin". Some of the book's photographs depict the house about 50 years ago. The author’s little girl adopts a small donkey left orphan, so a strong relationship develops between them.This story enchanted me and made me love the house even more. I hope you love it and you can feel the beauty and peace of it too.
Our family settled in Lindos 26 years ago due to my work on the restoration program on the ancient acropolis whereas my husband set the jewelry shop COSMOS in the village. We were astonished by the place as it was combining history, tradition and simplicity. Our aim is to help you and make you feel home.
Located in the traditional village of Lindos in a quiet neighborhood , near the police station of the village. The house is close to all activities of the village, restaurants, super markets, bars. In addition it’s very close to Saint Paul's bay, just a 10 minutes’ walk while the main beach is 15 minutes. The bus station and taxi station is only 10 minutes ' walk . The bus station is located in Krana square, on the top of the village, from where frequent routes can take you to Rhodes town or other villages and beaches. The taxi station is on the main square as well as donkeys that can take you for a ride to the acropolis or to the main beach. One of the village's parking, in Stavris square, is only a 2 minutes’ walk.
