This is probably the most favoured area for villa holidays on Zakynthos offering stunning scenery, glorious beaches and just enough shops and restaurants to keep you occupied whilst being a relatively short drive from Zakynthos Town and the airport. Vasilikos is the area on the north east coast of the island looking over to the Greek mainland and runs from just south of Argassi, a popular resort south of Zakynthos Town to the tip of the peninsula. Vasilikos boats beautiful pine woods, rolling olive groves and several lovely coastal areas such as Aghios Nikoloas, Porto Roma and Xerokastello where you can find a few shops and restaurants and lovely bays to sunbathe and swim. The famous Banana Beach is a large expanse of sand popular with the locals and much frequented by Italian visitors in August.
