"Village House Kalypso" is the second bussiness adventure my husband and I decided to take up, renting a place with unique views built with love 20 years ago, to host downstairs my Private Language School , next door my beloved elder aunt Kalypso and upstairs my parents who used to take care of both my kids while I was teaching downstairs. Now they live with us, so the House is free for rent and ideal for tourists who seek something different while on holiday .just contact us and we will be more than happy to fulfill your inquiries and make your holiday one t remember .

Hi, I am Maria and my family and I live in Corfu all year round. I have studied English and tourism/ hotel management and have been blessed to follow both carreers . Teaching English and running a private school, was and still is, my main job 10 months a year for the last 30 plus years of my life. Tourism is also an interesting job and a way of living here in Greece. I come from a family involved in tourism with restaurants and hotels ,and I used to work in the family business ,before my studies too.Later establishing a private language school, getting married and having and bringing up 2 children were my priorities. Even though , with great happiness, for more than 12 years, I gave my second profession up to stay at home and bring my children up, It was very easy for me to come back and get involved in tourism again together with my husband this time establishing "Gran Aladino" Restaurant in Paleokastritsa which is very popular and 16 years old already.Our both children Eleni 27 and Spiros 24 have now joined the family bussiness and help out a lot,too. Lakones is a lovely typical Corfiot village with one thin one-way road running through the middle of it. The village offers one of the best views on the island with Paleokatritsa well below, because from Lakones, all the scenery in its majesty can be viewed. There you can admire the view over the bay of Paleokastritsa. Lakones is set on the North West coast about 25km from Corfu town and a little over 30 minutes by car. The village dates from late Byzantine period and some of the house date from the 18th to 19th century. Lakones is set on the slopes of the Araki Mountain above Paleokastritsa and has some spectacular views, on the road towards the village there are plenty of viewing points and it is well worth stopping off to take in the views. Lakones is a very traditional village and you may even see women in traditional Greek dress, you will also find plenty of little stalls and shops selling local homemade products from organic honey, olive oil and herbs. The village is long, winding and narrow but has many back streets and makes a wonderful area to explore. There are plenty of walks in the area and the village gives you an advantage to see the surrounding countryside.
