Ione Inn is a small, owner-managed inn hidden away in a peaceful oasis beneath Naxos' medieval castle quarter. With just eight studios and apartments, it combines the comfort and independence of a holiday apartment with the personal touch of a traditional inn. Layers of Ancient Greek, Byzantine and Venetian history lie just beyond our doorstep, while the cafés, tavernas, shops and waterfront are only a short stroll away. Inspired by the Greek tradition of philoxenia, we're always happy to share local recommendations and help guests make the most of their stay on Naxos. Each individually furnished room features a private kitchenette, award-winning Alfa Strom mattresses, Coco-Mat pillows, sheets and towels, a Nespresso coffee machine, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Private balconies and patios invite you to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Restoring and reimagining this old inn has fulfilled a long-held dream. We hope you'll feel as much at home at Ione Inn as we do in our adopted corner of the Aegean.

Few places in the Cyclades are better explored on foot than our neighbourhood in Naxos Old Town. We find the best walks begin with no destination in mind... and somehow always end in a taverna. Leave the map behind and lose yourself in a labyrinth of whitewashed lanes, hidden courtyards, and centuries-old churches and chapels. Take the castle elevator or simply follow the winding alleys uphill. If the climb is breathtaking, you're headed the right way. Even with the tavernas calling as sweetly as the Sirens, we still linger over the views across the harbour and delight in the little discoveries hidden in the ancient fabric of the town. When you've caught your breath and are ready to rejoin the bustle, wander down to the waterfront promenade. Stop for a coffee or cocktail and watch the ferries, fishing boats and yachts come and go. Then stroll across the stone causeway to the Portara, the monumental gateway to an unfinished Temple of Apollo, where sunsets have inspired more social media posts than anyone could hope to count. If the afternoon grows warm, do what we do: cool off with a swim at Agios Georgios Beach or in the sheltered little bay beside the Portara before finding a shady taverna for a leisurely dinner. By the time the bill arrives, you'll likely be buzzing with plans for tomorrow's adventure: mountain villages, spectacular beaches, secluded coves, ancient temples or the island's colossal Kouroi.
