My name is George and I am from Monemvasia. I have studied marketing, and I like traveling and spending time with friends and family; I am also the father of two fantastic boys. I enjoy meeting new people from around the world. Located in the heart of Monemvasía castle, Kissamitakis Guesthouse offers two 19th-century split-level maisonettes of 44 and 48 square meters respectively, with views of the Myrtoon Pelagos & the castle itself. Both houses include ground-level seating and dining areas, as well as kitchenettes. On the second level, you can find the bedrooms. Other facilities include smart flat-screen TVs and Free WiFi throughout the property. >>> THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING: <<< *** IT MUST BE NOTED THAT THE ALLEYS INSIDE THE FORTRESS ARE COBBLED ONES. KEEP ALSO IN MIND THAT THE SPLIT LEVEL STYLE OF THE OLD TRADITIONAL HOUSES OF THE CASTLE AND THE STAIRCASES INSIDE MAY MAKE WALKING AROUND DIFFICULT FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE. *** NO HIGH HEEL SHOES WARNING!!! THEY ARE TOTALLY UNSUITABLE FOR RUNNING AROUND MONEMVASIA'S STONE PATHWAYS; A GOOD, COMFORTABLE PAIR OF FLATS (OR EVEN BETTER A PAIR OF HIKING STYLE SHOES / BOOTS) IS A MUCH SAFER OPTION. *** FOR THE ‘KLIMATARIA’ MAISONETTE, IN PARTICULAR, IT HAS TO BE NOTED THAT ALTHOUGH THERE IS A WC / SHOWER ROOM INSIDE THE HOUSE, THE MAIN SHOWER IS AN EXTERNAL ONE. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CHECK THE DETAILED PICTURES OF MY LISTING BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION. *** AS I ALSO MENTION IN THE DETAILED HOUSE - MANUAL OF MY LISTING, THERE ARE CARRIERS, WITH HAND CARTS AT THE CASTLE'S ENTRANCE; FOR A SMALL FEE (AROUND 5 - 10 EUROS), THEY WILL HELP YOU CARRY YOUR LUGGAGE. HOWEVER, FOR SHORT - ONE DAY - STAYS, IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO CARRY ONLY THE NECESSARY LUGGAGE; YOU CAN LEAVE THE REST IN YOUR CAR. MONEMVASIA IS VERY SAFE AND WE VERY, VERY RARELY HAVE INCIDENTS OF THEFT.
There's the amazing view, the sea, the long shingle beaches, but there is also an incredible sense of history and beautifully preserved buildings; bars and restaurants; friendly and welcoming people - and everything is within walking distance.
