Nested on the outskirts of tranquil and picturesque Megalochori, the twin villas of Milestone tell the story of the 17th-century village with the colorful bougainvilleas, the characteristic old belfry towering over the scenic square, the mansions and the wine canavas, and the lovely maze of narrow cobbled streets that guide your footsteps down a lane of tradition and romance. Some of the best wineries on the island are just a few steps away from the villas offering you the chance to taste the unique product of one of the oldest wine fields in the world. After a mere 5-minute walk you will find yourself to the Megalochori caldera, a spot of outstanding view and hidden secrets… Two beaches, Plaka and Thermi that are unreachable by car, lie at the bottom of the Megalochori cliff. You can visit them after an exciting hike on a medium difficulty path down the slope. Above Thermi beach there is the minuscule church of Christos ta Thermi that is curved within the rock. At Plaka beach, a few meters above the water you can see the old spa structures.
