Moonlight Villas overlook the blue waters of the Mediterranean with stunning views of the southern Crete landscape, moon and sunset. Set in Koutsourás, a quiet, agricultural village in South-Eastern Crete, the brand new, waterfront estate features an infinity pool (52 m2) and adjoining spa, from which guests can enjoy these stunning waterfront views. You can rent either the WHOLE VILLA (with PRIVATE pool access) or a any of 4 private apartments (we call them 'Moons'), named after the largest moons of planet Jupiter discovered by Galileo in the 16th century: Europa (3 bedroom suites, with indoor jetted tub and private outdoor hot spa on balcony), Io (2 bedrooms), Callisto (3 bedrooms) and Ganymede (1 bedroom)]. Callisto and Io are fully handicapped-accessible, and there is an elevator to the top floor. When individual moons are booked, the pool and barbecue are SHARED. The villas offer sun loungers, hammocks, swings, foosball, washing machine and dryer, bicycles, puzzles, games, Larger groups can combine Moonlight with the sister property Paradisos villas (300 meters). Combined, Moonlight and Paradisos have 9 + 11 = 20 bedrooms.

In welcoming you to our property, let me tell you about myself. I grew up in Crete and moved to the US for graduate studies (I now spend the winters in New York). Growing up under the clear, star-lit skies of southeast Crete, I have always been captivated by the moon and the stars. In fact, my childish dream was to be an astro-physicist. Although I ended up becoming a neuroscience professor instead, I never forgot the wild beauty of my Cretan home. This nighttime marine enchantment provided the inspiration for the Moonlight Villas. I have two passions: my research -I work to understand how the best machine (our brain) is built- and my love for this small corner of the world that combines beautiful weather year-around, spectacular beaches, mountainous wild beauty, with Cretan culture and cuisine. From my job, I was given the opportunity to travel the world. As incredible as these adventures were, I always found myself missing my home village. Now I want to share it with you! I want to open my home to people from all cultures who have opened their homes to me when I visited their countries: You! Welcome to our home and let me know how I can help to make your holidays unforgettable.

Located only a few minutes’ walk from a local pebble beach, bakery, coffee shops, patisserie, super markets, bars, restaurants, and pharmacy, the villas combine romantic seclusion with proximity to modern comforts. Likewise, the property is located only 2 km away from the tourist town of Makry Gialos, as well as traditional Cretan mountain villages with numerous authentic tavernas and bars. Hiking opportunities include the Butterfly gorge, Pefki gorge and the gorge of the dead in Zakros. Wind surfing and other spots are offered nearby. Transportation from the nearest airports (Sitia or Heraklion) can be arranged at a fee. The whole complex has been designed with luxury, eco-friendly living in mind. Each villa has panoramic sea views that blend into the local landscape and many unique architectural and environmentally friendly features throughout. The interior furnishings have been carefully chosen to provide the maximum comfort with the use of natural and eco-friendly materials. The property has its own water and electricity, central vacuum, central heating and cooling that can be independently controlled in each room. In addition, the complex has its own water treatment.
