The Windmill in Kalavri is a renovated traditional building with 2 identical apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor. The mill counts from the end of 1800. An expatriate immigrant who was then working on the construction of the Panama Canal (and has his name written there) decides to return to his hometown. He bought the windmill in 1937. Stathis, relentless and full of appetite for work, continues his operation, grinding wheat and barley. In 1953 comes the great earthquake where it changes the lives of so many Ionian Islands. Among them, the life of our grandfather Stathis is changing. Its mill is demolished and makes it impossible to restart. Desperate, he decides to turn to agriculture and animal husbandry. The ruins of the windmill stand there until 1985 when Mr. Makis - current owner, son of Stathis - begins the restoration and complete overhaul of the windmill in a rented holiday home. In 2010, it completely renovates, as well as later in 2019 and 2020 to make your stay the perfect combination of traditional rhythm with the comfort of today ...
