A lovely restored old Turkish cottage (ca. 1895) surrounded by almond, olive and pomegranate trees with a magnificent view from its shaded terraces to the medieval Genoese fortress that is overlooking Karystos bay. The cottage is a welcoming refuge for those who enjoy peace and quiet and appreciate the sights and sounds of rural Greece.
Renting a car is the best way to get around. There are buses from the town of Karystos to other parts of the island of Evia. The village of Mekounida is 7 minutes by car from the port town of Karystos and a very pleasant 30 minute downhill walk for those so inclined.
