Villa Koumos, located in the traditional village of Gavalochori, Crete, is a luxurious holiday home that offers a comfortable and spacious stay for families and friends. The villa has three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms (one en suite) and is air-conditioned throughout. All the bedrooms have patio areas with fantastic views. The rooms and living areas are light and beautifully furnished. The upper balcony has a lounge and dining area where you can enjoy meals and relax in comfort. The extra-large, heated pool has gated access for additional child safety, and pool towels are provided to save on your luggage allowance. The villa is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and is in an elevated location above the traditional village of Gavalochori, enjoying panoramic views over the village to the sea and the White Mountains.

The centre of Gavalochori is just a 700-meter walk from Villa Koumos. You’ll find three tavernas that offer typical Cretan cuisine at very reasonable prices. There are also two general stores and a bakery in the area. The museum of local life is a wonderful place to explore the history and culture of the village, and there are also shops selling local crafts that are worth checking out. The ancient oil mill is another interesting attraction that you might want to visit. Near the villa, you’ll find the Venetian wells, which are part of the history of Crete. If you’re interested in archaeology, the island has many fine archaeological sites from the Minoan and subsequent periods of history. Alternatively, if you prefer to relax on a beach, there’s a Blue Flag sandy beach at Almyrida, which is just 4 kilometers away
