<p>The resort of Rabac gained its popularity due to its beautiful bay and gentle surroundings. One of the first guests in Rabac was the English travel writer and writer Richard Francis Burton, who was inspired by the beauty of Istria and wrote the book "The Istrian Coast". The summer house of the Prohaska family from the Czech Republic is today one of the most beautiful parts of the town. Rabac has been called the "Pearl of the Adriatic" because of its white pebble beaches, Mediterranean plants and crystal azure sea. On a hill above Rabac is the medieval town of Labin, which rests on the foundations of ancient Albona. The oldest mention of Labin is a relief from the 3rd century with the inscription "Res publica Albonessium". From the town fortress in Labin, there is a wonderful view of Rabac, Cres and the surrounding area.</p>
