Maksimir is one of Zagreb's leafiest, most relaxed neighbourhoods — the kind of place where the pace drops a notch without losing easy access to the city. Maksimir Park (one of the oldest public parks in Europe) and the Zagreb Zoo are a short walk or bus ride away, and the area is full of tree-lined streets and local cafés. Tram lines 4, 7, 11, and 12 stop roughly 150 metres from the apartment, getting you to the city centre in about 15 minutes. The old town is around 5 km west, and the Dinamo stadium is right at the edge of the park if you're into football.
