There are many elements of Venetian architecture because Vodnjan was under Venice for almost 400 years. The highest bell tower in Istria is located in Vodnjan next to the church of St. Blaise. The Vodnjan Relic Collection and the Vodnjan Mummies of Saints are located in the Church of St. Blaise in Vodnjan. Olive oils from Vodnjan often win awards at world competitions. The Church of St. Blaise was built from 1760 to 1800 and is the largest church in the wider area. The church tower is 60 meters high. Vodnjan is known worldwide for its collection of relics. The collection contains a total of 370 relics from 250 Christian saints. Among them are undecayed bodies, which is a scientific phenomenon or miracle. This unique treasure trove of relics is located in the premises of the former sacristy. It is the largest collection in Croatia and one of the largest in Europe. Every year, thousands of visitors visit and make pilgrimages to this place. The collection contains 730 pieces of sacred objects from the 4th to the 11th centuries. The church has ten altars, 24 paintings and 18 sculptures.
