Our house is a corner of paradise in the centre of Opatija, surrounded by the greenery of our garden, which isolate it from neighbours and traffic noise. This makes it the perfect place for a totally relaxing holiday, easily accessible, just a few hours' drive away from anywhere in Europe. Stepping out of the lush garden, all amenities are just a stone's throw away: herb market, fish market, butcher's, bakery, post office, bank, pharmacy and plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as an amazing 25 km seaside promenade and plenty of beaches. Buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries tell its history, the years when Opatija hosted European nobility on holiday by the sea. To recreate the Mitteleuropean spirit that reigns in our town, to give our house a soul, we have added to the essential, modern furnishings, pieces of antique furniture that belonged to our family in the past century. Opatija is a seaside town, lying at the foot of a lush green mountain and bathed by a deep blue sea. To be able to admire all the beauty of a seaside town, to understand its soul, to get in touch with its people, one must visit it from the sea. A boat trip along its shores is a must.
