My husband and I decided to build a new home in the charming fishing village of Sumartin, located on the beautiful island of Brač, his hometown. After living in Australia, we wanted a change of pace and chose to explore a new seaside adventure in Croatia with our children. Completed in 2018, our home is a stunning retreat featuring an infinity pool and breathtaking views of the sea and the island of Hvar. The spacious living area opens onto a large balcony with sweeping 180-degree views over olive groves and untouched nature. Perched on a hillside with no immediate neighbours, the house offers total peace and tranquility, surrounded by mountain biking and walking trails. The home includes three bedrooms, each with its own large ensuite bathroom, as well as a dedicated children's room with a separate bathroom. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, and there's a large washing machine for your convenience. Outside, you’ll find a vegetable garden with seasonal produce and herbs you’re welcome to use while cooking. There's also a newly built BBQ area and outdoor living space, perfect for enjoying warm evenings in a truly relaxing and idyllic setting.
I moved here from Sydney, Australia with my husband, choosing this quaint and picturesque Croatian village to start a tourism business. It’s not only his hometown, but also offered exactly what we were looking for—a peaceful seascape and a slower pace of life. We love how easy it is to unwind in Sumartin. The charming cafés and restaurants with stunning views, beautiful beaches, warm sea temperatures, and crystal-clear waters all make it feel like a dream. We also enjoy exploring the bush trails, mountain biking, and taking boat trips around the island.
Sumartin is a quaint and pretty fishing village. It has many beaches to choose from with crystal clear water. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries and let your hairdown. There are many interesting places on the island for you to see, we can easily arrange tours, boat trips and deep sea fishing. The famous beach on Bol is 25km away. There is also a ferry that goes to Makarska and back throughout the day (weather permitting).
