BEFORE BOOKING PLEASE CAREFULLY READ DESCRIPTIONS !!! ........................................................................................................................................................................ This house is ideal only for easy-going, responsible guests who don’t stress when things occasionally go differently than planned, cherish nature, care for water resources and enjoy simple living. Our bay has no road access. From the nearest parking area there is a 10 minute walk along a natural footpath (not suitable for bikes or heavy luggage). Everything here is slower and harder to fix than on the mainland. - IT TAKES 10min WALK BY THE GOAT PATH TO REACH THE HOUSE - BED IS ON THE LOFT, SHOWER OUTDOORS AND THE WATER IS FROM THE WELL - IT IS NECESSARY TO SAVE WATER (FROM THE WALE) - IN THE WILDERNESS ANIMALS ARE PRESENT - WE HAVE SOME REQUESTS AND HOUSE RULES In the embrace of the authentic nature of the island sits a small house intended for those who are not looking for luxury in the material sense but are looking for a refuge in a peaceful environment of nature, where the greatest values are the sound of the sea, the immediate proximity of natural vegetation, the rocks and the company of animals that live here. It is intended for those who value natural resources, because the consumption of water (rainwater) is reduced to as little as possible and they want to rest, recharge with energy, return to their basics and take good care of the house and the environment around it.
Requirements & House rules & Important to Know ! -Water & Electricity- Water is from the well (no drinking water). The house uses rainwater. Firemen deliver water when tanks run dry. Guests must use water modestly as its supply is limited. -Nature & Cleanliness- The bay is a natural habitat for lizards, bees, spiders, snakes, mice and rats... There are no poisonous animals on the island. They keep away from people but only if the place is kept really clean. All food must be stored tightly in the metal cabinet. Smells of food and leaving crumbs invites animals inside. Garbage should be taken out regularly. -Internet- This house uses the Starlink service provider. Phone signal is only available in some places. The island is not well covered and some parts have no signal. - Ferries & Travel to the Island - Two daily options from Split (3–4 times per day): -Ferry (for cars/motorbikes). -Catamaran/Speedboat (for pedestrians only). Ferry lines can be crowded in high season. In top season if arriving by car buy the tickets online few days in advance. Only a ticket guarantees boarding. For pedestrians there is always enough space on board. Tickets are also sold in the port of Split. No public lighting on paths - arriving in daylight is essential *OUR REQUIREMENTS* 1. Modesty and unpretentiousness are required. Water is from a well and it is required to pay attention to the water consumption. 2. Keeping the place tidy and taking good care of things will prevent rats and mice coming into the house. 3. Communication before your arrival is inevitable so that we can figure out how to get your luggage to the house. 4. It is difficult to overhaul anything in such isolated areas so if something goes wrong, we have to wait patiently for the service from mainland. Things here are not accessible or quickly arranged.
Access to the house is possible from the sea or by land. It is preferable to arrive in the daylight, because there is no public lighting on the location. If you are by car there is a 10 minutes walk from the nearest parking place to the house and the luggage (drinking water, food...) needs to be carried along by foot. In that case it is recommended to bring smaller suitcases because a pathway leading to the house gets narrow in some parts. Biking on the path is not allowed. Most elegant way is to bring the luggage (from port of Vis) directly to the house by a Taxi boat. That way guests often choose to send the luggage and walk to the house. You have to let us know prior to your arrival, if you wish to book the taxi boat so we can make a reservation and organize it for you. Hopefully the weather conditions are fine as well. The cost of the taxi boat is 50 eur. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT? We highly recommend you to visit the island in a low season when even some restaurants already close their doors and experience strong presence of the nature, complete peace and intimacy. In high season boats are coming into the bay and make more noise but still you have all the peaceful mornings and your own access to the sea that can make you fall in love with this little gem. SURROUNDINGS There are few more houses across the bay and one weekend house next to yours which is not inhabited. Sometimes its owners from the mainland come for a swim if they are on the island. If you are a hiking person there are many nice paths around the area. One path leads further on towards the pick of the peninsula to the lighthouse (20 min walk) and on the other side you can go back to the sandy beach with a bar and a restaurant (10 minutes walk). A town of Vis is 7km away. Usually I welcome my guests at at the house. I can send the ferry schedules map and video directions by whats-app once you contact me. Im sending you more informations in the letter after you make your booking.
