Baderna is a small town in Poreština, 13 km east of Poreč and 19 km southwest of Pazin. It lies at the intersection of state roads Poreč–Pazin–Rijeka (D-48, D-302) through the Učka and Pula–Kopar–Trieste tunnels (D-21). The inhabitants are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. Considering the position at the crossroads, transit tourism is also important. The settlement has the character of a castle, and the entire area was inhabited in Roman times. The parish church dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the 16th century, and was thoroughly renovated and extended in 1843 and 1878. The separate bell tower was built in 1827.
