Neighborhood info

Sumartin is located on the easternmost point of the island of Brač, and its popularity has been increasing in recent years. Sumartin is also the youngest settlement on Brač, founded by settlers from the mainland in the 17th century. The place was named after St. Martin. The church and bell tower dominate the settlement. Lučica Cave is located near the village and it served as a refuge for the inhabitants. Like the entire island of Brač, Sumartin also has many hiking and biking trails, as well as hidden bays (some of which are Rasotica, Zukovik, Radovnja and Studena) where you can enjoy solitude. Sumartin is connected to Makarska by a direct ferry line, so you will be able to visit Makarska as well. In the vicinity of Sumartin is Selce, where you can see numerous cultural monuments, such as the monument to Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy.
