We picked up the keys for our house in Balatonkiliti in June 2019,moved here from Budapest and we opened in May. The property is located in a fairly big, green garden and includes 2 houses. Next to the main house,where we -the hosts- are living, there is a smaller one which is the base of the Nook – Balatonkiliti project with a separate entrance.The house is a standalone~70m2 building with 2 floors and a nook alike rooftop bedroom, hence the name of the house.The garden is shared and we welcome guests with dogs. We experienced it is quite difficult to find separate dog-friendly houses around Balaton, hence came the idea :) If you arrive with a dog, please let us know in advance to discuss details.
How did the story of our house started and how did I become a countryside guesthouse owner from being a big city girl from Budapest? We are happy to share the story with our Guests when they visit us :) At the moment, the 3 of us and our 3years old chow chow, Blue is living in the main part of our house. We rescued Aragorn, a 9years old male chow chow in November, 2020 and he also lives with us. We have 2 cats as well within the property, Zokni (male) and Lana (female). I am (Gabi) a relocation professional and I am handling 2 guesthouses. My partner, Tamás is mostly working from home,he is a horticultural engineer. My Mom is also living with us and she is a pensioner, she is normally home and can help with any questions the guests might have.
Balatonkiliti is part of Siofok, probably the capital of Lake Balaton and the most known city on the southern shore. While Siofok is pretty busy during the summer time, Balatonkiliti is 5kms from the party life with a relaxing athmosphere on the so called grape mountain in Balatonkiliti. We would recommend our house to couples, small families and pet owners who would like relax in the nature yet still be close to the shore and the Balaton city life.
