This is a beautifully designed natural home that opens up to extensive nature views in the front, with a tucked away lush green jungle bathroom at the back. When you relax in the chairs on the front deck you hear the powerful ocean just beyond the palm trees and at the back of the house you can hear the soothing flow of the river. The space is designed with fluid borders between inside and outside keeping you connected to nature while being comfortable. This house is part of a three house property and the kitchen and pool is shared with the other two houses. The house is privately located only 300m from a quiet little beach and with some of Bali’s best and least crowded surf breaks within easy reach. The bedroom has a big king size bed facing the rice fields. The bedroom opens up both to the front and back and has been designed to create a natural flow of air through the space at all times keeping it cool. Your spacious bathroom is located outside directly behind the bedroom with the shower suspended from the roof creating a waterfall like shower in the middle of the jungle. Your bathroom has a green wall surrounding the back which makes your bathroom very open and natural while still private. On the shady front terrace you have two lounge chairs to do some quiet reading or to enjoy an afternoon drink in the cool breeze while taking in the relaxing views. To the side of the house you have a little private garden just beyond the entrance. The space is designed to minimize environmental impact which is why we don’t have AC. Or rather that is why I previously didn’t have AC. But hopefully you still don’t need to use it very much to keep our energy consumption low and reduce impact. Also it is important to know that it’s a wooden house with grass roof and no amount of AC will make this space 19 degrees. All I can guarantee is that the AC will make it a little bit cooler than it is outside. Please use it responsibly.

Things to consider before booking • A house this open and immersed in nature will have visitors from nature; bugs, spiders, mosquitos and the occasional mouse or frog. We keep it as clean as possible and the breeze keeps most of the mosquitos at bay. • There are sometimes dogs visiting or staying in one of the houses and if this is a big concern for you please don’t book this place. • The front window doesn’t have a curtain. No one is ever out there so you are private but some people feel too exposed. The bathroom is outside well covered but again some people are uncomfortable with this. • Regular Bali village life occurs around the area with occasional music or announcements from surrounding temples, rice farmers working the fields and families going to the beach on Sundays. • The rice fields go through their normal harvesting cycles and therefore do not always look as pictured. There are also occasionally farmers on the rice field and as it’s very close to the house it can affect your sense of privacy. However they are rarely there and don’t spend much time hanging around. • The space is about a 15 min drive away from shops and any greater selection of restaurants, SPAs etc. If you are not comfortable driving a bike you will need a driver to visit any tourist sites or to get out of the immediate area. Great surf is however accessible by walking down to the beach and along to whatever style of break suits you the best.
