Cois Cuan (Beside the pier) is a beautiful modern stylish elegant but simple house built to the highest standards six years ago. It has underfloor heating and outstanding 180° views of the Dungarvon estuary. In the summer the house has wild flower meadows, and even when the weather is grim the views are beautiful. The house is before your reach Helvick harbour. The road up to the house is beside a colourful black and turquoise cottage and clearly signposted. There is a steep turn to the left at the top of a small hill but it's easy to take a wide circle to turn. Tomas is always available to give directions should you have trouble finding the house. There are two very comfortable large rooms. One, Seomra Mor has beautiful views of the sea which can be easily seen from the bed, and is south facing so gets good sun. The other, a double room without sea views is at the back of the house and is quiet and private. Both have rain shower and shower wet rooms.
Tomas is a retired fisherman with over 50 years fishing in the Irish seas. He is cheerful, practical and always helpful and has a wealth of knowledge about seafaring and local history. He was born in An Rinn and is a good Irish speaker.
Ballyreilly is next to Helvic harbour, in the heart of the beautiful rural An Rinn area. There is a lively local pub overlooking the sea a short walk away. Tomas's house is modern, clean and peaceful and has exceptional 180° views of the Dungarvon estuary, only 200 yards below the house. The sunsets are outstanding.
