Whether you are exploring the historic monastic site of Clonmacnoise just down the road, enjoying vibrant summer traditional music sessions, or simply taking in the peaceful beauty of the River Shannon, Ely House offers a warm, sustainable, and welcoming base for your journey.
Brian and Dympna have operated their friendly B&B Ely House for over 10 years. Brian is knowledgeable on Clonmacnoise having written " The Story of Clonmacnoise" and will happily assist with your visit to Clonmacnoise and other local points of interest. Dympna makes her famous brown bread for you to enjoy with your breakfast .We love books and have a large selection of books which can be loaned to our guests. Come visit, we'd love to see you. Shannonbridge is a lovely riverside village on the banks of the river Shannon. There are two marinas where each night many visitors on cruisers dock to taste the famous Shannonbridge nightlife. Killeens Pub and Lukers Pub are traditional Irish Pubs and are well worth a visit. The Old Fort restaurant is also within walking distance. The wonderful 1500 year old monastery of Clonmacnoise is nearby. Lough Boora Parklands and Birr Castle are just a short drive away
