Winner of Holiday Chalet of the Year in Donegal in the Travel & Hospitality Awards, Europe 2025 The house is a modern 2 bedroom bungalow located in Dunlewey (Dun Luiche), a small rural community in the Donegal Gaeltacht. The house sleeps 4-5 with two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), a sofa bed in the sitting room and a travel cot for an infant. It has two bathrooms; a main bathroom with bath and an over bath shower plus a wet room with walk in shower. There are two sitting rooms with open fires; the main living room enjoying views over Dunlewey Lake. There is a 40” flat screen TV with Sky Stream and DVD in the main sitting room and an additional TV with Sky Stream in the kitchen. There is a large stylish fully fitted dining kitchen with views over the lake. It has a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave, a washing machine and a separate dryer. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and equipment to be able to cook. Recent Improvements .... relevant to guest comments - Bathroom refurbished and new shower room added in Spring 2023. - New Drive laid Spring 2025 - New faster fibre broadband installed Spring 2025

We are sisters whose family come from Dunlewey. The property has been in our family since it was built in the early 1980's on land that has been in the family for 8 generations. We use the house regularly for long family holidays and it is very much our Irish home.

Dunlewey is a small Gaeltacht village in Gweedore area of County Donegal. It sits in the Poisoned Glen, at the foot of Errigal and on the shore of Dunlewey Lough. It is situated near to the Atlantic coastline and is close to the Wild Atlantic Way. Dunlewey is 12-14 kilometres from the coast and 40 kilometres from Letterkenny, the nearest large town; In the village there is a tourist centre called the Lakeside Centre (Ionad Cois Locha) that offers, boat trips of the lake, a children adventure park, gift shop and restaurant. There is also a Catholic church, a pub, a petrol station and a small grocery shop. At the end of the lough is a ruined church with dramatic views of the mountain and lake.
