McCarthy's B&B is a period building dating back to 1680 approximately. It is in my husbands family since 1720. It started as a Finishing School for young ladies, before being bought for my husbands Great Great Aunt as a wedding present by her father. It has had many usages through the years from a private house to a hotel to a bar and now it is a family run Bed & Breakfast. This building is steeped in history and was the location of the first ever southboard G.A.A meeting in 1907. The centenary in 2007 was marked with a civic reception. The building is ideally located approx. 200 metres from the scenic Clonmel Blue Way & the town's new canoe/kayak slalom course. We have storeage possibilities for canoes/ kayaks and bikes for our guests upon request.
Myself Deborah and my husband Robin run the business and feel very privileged to live in a house full of such history, that has been handed down from generation to generation. My husband is a founding member of the Clonmel Canoe Club.
Our home is in the centre of town within a short walk to all shops local amenities . Located approx. 200 metres from the Clonmel Blue Way & slalom course. Everything you could need is on our doorstep.
