You are very welcome to Mount Brandon Cottages. These present times are very uncertain times for all of us. In order to make our guests feel at ease, we have completed the Failte Ireland safety charter and follow a very strict cleaning schedule. If you have any Corona symptoms or have been in close contact with anyone who suffers from this illness in the past fortnight, please do not visit us at this time. We have removed all non-essential brochures and other materials from the houses. At this time we also ask you to please bring your own towels. Linen is supplied free of charge and has been washed at the recommended 60 degree centigrade.
If you like cycling, we will have stories to exchange about country lanes, hills and climbs. We cycle a tandem, which, at times is a struggle in this hilly terrain... I am a keen SCUBA diver/instructor. So if you have any interest in diving, let me know and I can point you in the right direction. We aim to greet our guests with homemade cookies or cakes. These are mostly vegan, which some of our guests struggle to believe, as they are always delicious! :-)
If you have any questions about the surrounding area, wildlife and/or fauna I will do my best to answer them for you. Do not leave here without visiting Peg Washington's Lane - supposedly the smallest street in the world. And know that "the cow that started the Great Chicago Fire" came from the O'Leary's from Graiguenamanagh... Make sure to visit DUISKE ABBEY while you are staying here. Ireland's largest Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1204.
