Hello my name is Ger Glynn, along with my wife Mary we own and operate Twin Oaks Bed and Breakfast. We started in 1995 and since that time our lives have been so enhanced by all the wonderful and interesting people we have had staying with us here at Twin Oaks.

Property info

We are close to the Historic Kells Priory situated in the village of Kells 4 miles (6km) south from Twin Oaks. The building is situated by the banks of the Kings river once used to service an old mill that is now obsolete but still in existence.Twin Oaks is a perfect location to explore this heritage building which is an intrinsic part of Irish history.

Neighborhood info

We live in a rural landscape yet we are just 7 minutes by car from the medieval city of Kilkenny. We are placed between Mount Leinster to the east and Sliabh Na Mban ( mountain of the women) to the south west. Both approx 30 miles ( 45 kms)from our position. The land is rich agricultural land. In the summer beautiful fields of golden wheat surround us , depending on crop rotation. We are not farmers, but we have a keen interest in gardening. 4 miles from our house is situated the picturesque village of Kells , with its ancient Kells Priory and adjoining mills. Once the home of monks centuries ago it is still an impressive building that is maintained by the Bord of Works.

Directions:

Travel 3.7 mi towards Kells on the R697, look for the sign for Twin Oaks opposite the L5033. Turn right on to the L5033.

When driving from Patrick St in the city center, guests must travel along this road for approx half a mile. Then, turn right at the Auto-Care Garage onto the R697 (Kells Road). Continue on for 0.6 mi. At the roundabout, continue on straight towards Kells. Travel along this road for 3.7 mi. Watch out for signs for Twin Oaks.Turn right onto the L5033. Continue on for 1312 feet and Twin Oaks is on the left-hand side with a sign outside the house.
