We're Jayshree and Ezhil. This hill house has been in our family for years — we live in Chennai, and Candy Ville is where we come to unwind and breathe. We look after it the way you look after a home, not a rental. You won't be on your own here. Our caretaker family have lived on the property for eight years and are around throughout your stay. They cook the meals, know every path in the valley, and will happily send you somewhere better than the guidebooks suggest. Their home-style cooking is the thing guests write to us about most. What we enjoy most is watching people slow down. Guests arrive planning to rush between viewpoints and end up spending the whole afternoon on the verandah with a pot of tea, watching the mist climb up the valley. That's rather the point of the place. We reply quickly, we're glad to help you plan your days, and we would much rather you asked us for something than went without it.

Doddabetta Peak, the Botanical Garden, Ooty Lake, Sim's Park, Lamb's Rock and Dolphin's Nose are all within an easy drive. Tea factories nearby sell Nilgiri tea at a fraction of shop prices. Mornings are clear and the hills usually cloud over after noon, so it's worth heading out early. Evenings are cold enough for the fire pit most of the year.
