Hima 360 is a private cabin in Bhatkanda village, in the Sainj Valley of Himachal Pradesh. One bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, a garden, an outdoor fireplace, and views of the valley that don't need describing. This is not a managed property. It's a real family home on a mountaintop. literally, no home above it. You can see the whole valley from here. That's why 360. Surrounded by apple orchards and forest, with the Sainj river running far below. The mountains are always present. Meals are cooked fresh by Hima Didi and family. Seasonal Himachali food, mountain greens, homemade ghee. Between May and June, lingri ki sabji appears on the table or gucci mushroom, a rare speciality. Foraged from these specific hills, cooked the way only people from here know how. You won't find this in a restaurant anywhere. Repti Ram ji has lived in Sainj Valley his entire life. He knows every trail, every village, every bend in the river. He runs a taxi service and will take you further into the valley than any map suggests or pick you up straight from Aut. But the heart of this homestay is his wife Hima Didi, after whom it is named, and their two kids. They are the energy of this place. She runs it like her home and her cooking is, honestly, the reason guests come back. I'm Prateek, a filmmaker who first arrived here as a guest and never quite left. Sainj Valley is still one of the lesser explored valleys in Himachal, which is exactly why it has stayed local and rooted. Our mountain cabin offers views that are honestly better than anything the photographs can capture. Every season brings its own flavour and the weather is always unpredictable, which makes it more exciting than it sounds. In season, you get apples straight from our farm. The Bhatkanda meadows are the kind of place where Rudyard Kipling would have written his novels sadly that never happened, but you can sit there and be the next kipling or rowling. Raila waterfall is 20 minutes away. Shangarh meadows are about an hour. If you're in the mood for a longer trek, we're close to the Great Himalayan National Park and you never quite know what you might find in there. Just below the village is Raila - the Dhaliara Kothi twin towers, the Raila Devta temple, and the Rupi Raila waterfall. Most guests who visit Shangarh never make it here.
