We believe our guests’ stay should be as interesting as their trip to India, which is why we've created Majo House. The décor is bold and colourful, and the sea-facing house is furnished with Indian antiques, vintage Bollywood posters and old treasures. We offer boutique accommodation in Cherai Beach, less than 10 metres from the best beach in Kochi. Majo House overlooks the Arabian Sea and is less than a 5-minute walk to the famous Kerala backwaters. We can arrange yoga classes, Ayurvedic treatments, and therapies from massages and steam treatments to full therapeutic treatment with an Ayurvedic doctor. Please be aware that the beach can change drastically without warning throughout the season, which means you may not always be able to sit on the beach in front of our place. However, the coastline is very long, so you will find other areas of the beach to relax.

Micky & Mahesh are the owners of the Majo House. Micky, an Artist from London with a background in the music industry, designed Majo House and with the help of his business partner, Mahesh and his family from Cherai they enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world. Micky first fell in love with Cherai Beach in 2010 and was welcomed as an honorary member of Mahesh's family back then. Mahesh grew up in Cherai Beach and still works as Rickshaw driver whilst helping out at Majo.

Cherai has one of Kerala's best beaches and is a short taxi ride from Kochi (Cochin) airport and Fort Kochi. Cherai Beach is a unique area with just a short walk between the beach and the famous Kerala backwaters. Cherai has beaches where you can sunbathe and swim. Our favourite for a day on the beach is The Chilli Out cafe. A great cafe situated on the beach serving real coffee, fruit smoothies, breakfast, pizzas and does a great grilled fish for dinner. They also have beds and bean bags on the beach where you can relax in peace, on the beach. You'll have plenty of opportunity to get to know the colourful and lively traditions of the local community at one of the many festivals that occur throughout the season. The local people are incredibly friendly and always give a warm welcome to visitors at any celebration. There are some wonderful local restaurants and beach cafe's nearby where you can dine in or have food delivered to the house. Trips to local temples, Munnar tea plantations, Athirappilly waterfalls, Parambikulum Tiger Reserve and easily arranged through a local travel agent and there are always local drivers willing to take you.
