Cochin is a perfect mix of heritage, culture and diversity with traces of ancient European settlements together with beach, bars, relaxation, and places of worship including the oldest church and the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya. I saw the city by foot mostly, and also hired a tuk tuk for some parts. Dont miss the Kathakali show

Cochin is a great mix of traditional and modernity.

Cochin is a great mix of traditional and modernity. The city is clean with all the facilities one needs to lead a comfortable life. We stayed at Fort Kochi and Panampilly Nagar which gave us the charm of old town and a more modern suburb. Don't miss the 'fish in a banana leaf' at Grand Hotel and the beef fry at Paragon in Fort Kochi. The city has many ways to commute. From Water Taxis to Ferries to buses to uber to metro. There are beautiful and very well connected hill stations a short drive away which provides one some respite.

We went at a time when Cochin was probably winding down from the main tourist season and gearing up for the coming monsoon season. Staying at Brunton Boatyard allowed us easy access on foot to everything that Fort Kochi had to offer. While not an ideal activity in the heat of the summer, we walked around a lot and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Breakfast was always at the hotel but we tried a lot of the local restaurants and cafes over lunch and dinner. Shaap 3.8/5 - Must try = Kerala prawn fry, Beef coconut fry (spice level 10/10) French Toast = 3/5 - Try the sweet versions of French Toast and breakfast foods Kochi Kapital Cafe = 4/5 - Must try = Alleppy prawn mano curry and rice, mango juice, beef coconut fry and rice Fusion Bay = 5/5 - Some of the best appams! Everything was excellent. Prawn moilee, prawn mango curry, Kerala fried prawns, batter fried squid, Kerala fish fry. Armoury = 5/5 - Fantastic breakfasts - podi idlis are a must try, dosas are amazing and the special breakfasts of the day are a treat. We went to St. Francis Xavier's church, walked along the Chinese fishing nets, explored Jew Town and passed through Mattancherry market. Not ideal activities for small children, especially if you're walking around in the heat. But rickshaws are plentiful and quite reasonably priced (I think!)

A bustling village like atmosphere to Kochi in Jewtown. Lots off great restaurants and seafood but if you are looking for a change CANVAS Italian Restuarant was delicious and great value (wood fired Gnocci !) Backwater boat and canoe with traditional lunch was great as was the TUK TUK Tour of traditional crafts.

I had a really positive experience in Kochi.

I had a really positive experience in Kochi. The city was very clean, and what stood out the most was how friendly and welcoming the people were throughout my stay. I also found Kochi to be excellent for shopping and medical services. Everything was easily accessible, and the overall experience in both areas was smooth and well-organized. I stayed in a great hotel, which made the trip even more comfortable, and the food was excellent—especially if you enjoy flavorful, fresh meals. Overall, Kochi gave me a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely consider visiting again.

Fort Cochi is a day and the backwaters are a day.

Fort Cochi is a day and the backwaters are a day. A push for much more. Lovely atmosphere in the area. Think Algarve but without the beach. Fort Cochi is not a swimming beach, head to Kolvalam for that.

Real good property at this price range near airport . I have traveled through Cochin airport for so many years and stayed in many hotels in and around Cochin airport . This was the best stay ever in this budget . Value for money !! My kids really enjoyed the play area which is not expected in a transit hotel .
