Just a minutes stroll from our homestay you will find yourself at the Periyar National park. Cradled within the Cardamom and Pandalam hills, this natural treasure is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. At the entrance, you will be greeted by a panoply of macaques and Nilgiri Langurs. If you feel inclined you can take a boat ride through the meandering river, and enjoy panoramic views of the lush tropical forests . You may encounter some of the local wildlife; including the Indian elephant, Leopard, Sambar deer, Indian bison and if you are lucky, the magnificent Bengal Tiger. If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can take a wooden bamboo raft through the water. Jeep Safaris are also an option.
