Kjarnholt Farmhouse is an independently owned countryside guesthouse located in the heart of South Iceland, just minutes from Geysir and Gullfoss. Originally built in the 1950s for two farming families, the property has long been a place where people gather, rest, and connect with the surrounding landscape. Today, Kjarnholt is operated by the team behind NÁTTÚRA Studio, a creative and hospitality venture focused on celebrating Icelandic nature, craftsmanship, food, and rural culture. Our vision is to create a place where guests can experience a slower pace of life and a genuine connection to the Icelandic countryside. We currently manage and operate Kjarnholt Farmhouse, a 10-room guesthouse set within a peaceful rural setting surrounded by rivers, farmland, mountains, and geothermal landscapes. Guests can expect a warm and personal experience, comfortable accommodation, locally inspired food, and thoughtful hospitality. Whether visiting the Golden Circle, exploring the highlands, or simply looking for a quiet retreat, Kjarnholt offers an authentic base from which to experience Iceland.

Kjarnholt Farmhouse by Náttúra Studio is a countryside guesthouse located in Biskupstungur, South Iceland, just over an hour from Reykjavík and only minutes from the Geysir area. Surrounded by open land, rivers, geothermal activity and panoramic views, Kjarnholt offers a slower and more grounded experience of Icelandic nature. The house sits within one of Iceland’s most unique landscapes, where changing weather, long daylight, silence and open space shape everyday life. Our aim is to create a place centered around natural wellbeing, rest, food, gathering and connection to the surrounding environment. Kjarnholt is a large Icelandic farmhouse originally built for two farming families in the 1950s. The house has been carefully preserved and renovated while maintaining the atmosphere and character of a traditional Icelandic countryside home. The guesthouse includes 10 individually designed bedrooms, communal dining areas, a bar, outdoor hot tub and shared living spaces overlooking the surrounding landscape. Next to the house stands the old stable building, now partially transformed into a large open gathering space used for dinners, workshops, social events and future studio activities.
