Overlooking Snæfellsnes Glacier and Breidafjördur Bay, this converted farmhouse enjoys a peaceful, remote setting along Iceland’s north-western coast. It offers traditional Icelandic cuisine, free Wi-Fi and a free outdoor hot tub. Vogur Country Lodge’s bright, fresh rooms have simple décor and a private bathroom with shower. Salmon, lamb and other regional specialties are served in the restaurant. Guests are welcome to grill their own dishes in the cozy BBQ hut. Local meat and dairy products can be bought on site. Other facilities include a sauna, library and playground. Guests can rent bikes and explore the surroundings. Sightseeing tours to nearby Lundey Island’s puffin colony can be arranged by staff. Búdardalur village and Eiríksstadir Museum are about 31 mi from Country Lodge Vogur. The museum is a replica of the famous Viking Eric the Red’s home.
