Your hosts, Louise and Alberto, moved to Tuscany twelve years ago after falling in love with the landscape and choosing to leave their corporate city careers behind in search of a more authentic and nature-connected way of life. In 2014, they purchased La Frattina, a property first recorded in 1823, which had been abandoned since the 1980s. Over the years, they carefully renovated every inch of the former brickworks with their own hands, following a slow and thoughtful restoration process that respects traditional Tuscan architecture, craftsmanship, and rural heritage. Cooking and working with food has been Alberto’s dream since childhood, and his passion is reflected in the dishes prepared at La Frattina. Louise, in turn, fulfilled her own dream of living closer to the land, caring for the garden, fruit trees, and vegetable plots that support the kitchen.

Agriturismo La Frattina is a charming Tuscan farmhouse nestled between the Crete Senesi and the Val d’Orcia, surrounded by olive trees, open fields and unspoilt countryside. With only four guest rooms and one private house, it offers an intimate and peaceful retreat for couples seeking an authentic Tuscan experience. Guests can enjoy panoramic views, breakfast included, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, Wi-Fi, private parking, an EV charging station, air conditioning, heating, and complimentary coffee and tea. Dinner inspired by traditional Tuscan cuisine is available exclusively for staying guests. From May to September, dinner is generally served three to four times per week on selected evenings, depending on reservations and guest demand. Additional evenings may be possible upon request, with a minimum of 4 guests. La Frattina also produces its own extra-virgin olive oil from the olive trees on the estate. La Frattina is designed for travellers who wish to slow down and experience Tuscany with time, curiosity and care. It is not a quick stopover, but a peaceful countryside retreat to settle into and enjoy over several days.

La Frattina is perfectly positioned for discovering some of Tuscany’s most celebrated landscapes, villages, and experiences. Set in the heart of Brunello di Montalcino wine country, the farmhouse is surrounded by renowned wineries where guests can enjoy tours and tastings; advance reservations are recommended, and assistance with planning is available. Thermal towns such as Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo, Chianciano Terme, and San Casciano dei Bagni offer soothing hot springs and natural pools, ideal for a restorative day trip. The surrounding countryside is exceptional for hiking and biking, with scenic trails beginning close to the property. E-bikes are available on-site, making it easy to explore the rolling hills, vineyards, and panoramic routes that define the region. A variety of local experiences can be arranged with trusted nearby providers, including yoga, cooking classes, horseback riding, painting and photography sessions, and guided cultural or historical tours. The area also hosts regular festivals, exhibitions, and local events throughout the year, and a tailored event calendar can be provided upon request. Many of Tuscany’s most iconic towns are within a short drive: Montalcino, Siena, Pienza, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montepulciano, and the historic Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Film enthusiasts will also recognise nearby locations featured in productions such as Gladiator, Medici: Masters of Florence, and Made in Italy.
