The hosts are adorable, the location a dream, stunning views on the wonderful Montalcino landscapes, the facilities spotless and plenty (bar, terrasse, pool, lounge...).
The place is quite, rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, matterasses excellent. Excellent breakfast with lots of options. All this at a very good price. For me it is not a 3 stars, but objectively at least 4.
I definitely will come back!

Montalcino is a beautiful town.
Montalcino is a beautiful town. Very clean and scenic with amazing views of the countryside far below. Its an easily walkable town, though there are some hills, its not flat. The restaurants are all well reviewed and we enjoyed every meal we had. The shops looked interesting. The town is very much about the local wines (which are amazing), so its a fantastic place for wine lovers. Many other interesting towns and sites are within an hour's drive, so its a good base to explore the area.

Montalcino is absolutely a fantastic place, a must go! Nice medieval atmosphere, nice people, nice food and of course superb wines. You really don’t need a car to move around in this little village. Food is everywhere nice, but of course get a bistecca if you can manage over 1 kg meat

City has some charm though challenging to navigate narrow...
City has some charm though challenging to navigate narrow streets and aggressive drivers. Many fine brunello producers close by. If wine is the attraction, probably stay outside the city. We enjoyed Tornesi and aietta wineries. There are hundreds of others from which to choose.

It is a beautiful mountain town with lots to do but is off the beaten path. Great place to relax and take in the charm and beauty. Excellent for those who enjoy learning about Brunello wine and winetasting.

Beautiful Tuscan town.
Beautiful Tuscan town. But the two main churches are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, if you can believe it... Better stay in Peinza or Montepulciano. But Sant'Antimo Abbey, 10 kms away, is a world wonder.

Mastrojanni Relais was the second hotel during our 11-night road trip around Tuscany for our honeymoon (we stayed in 4 places in total). This place is beautiful – the views are out of this world. We had an amazingly big room which was quiet and private. The staff are very friendly and willing to help. We were also delighted to dine at their first summer BBQ which was lovely – as a vegetarian, they went out of their way to make sure I was catered for. We loved being able to relax by the pool and order drinks and lunch to our sun beds.

The location of the hotel is great.
A five minute walk up quite a steep hill got you to the main Street in the town. The views from the hotel were stunning. Overlooking the Tuscan countryside. The breakfast had enough choice. Cheeses, meats, fruit, yoghurts, pastries and breads for toasting. There wasn’t a hot option. The view from the terrace where breakfast was taken was wonderful. The hotel has a nice pool. The cleaning staff were fantastic.

I had an amazing stay here, the hotel was beautiful, the room very authentic and comfortable, most importantly the hotel owner Mara was so accommodating to me and went above and beyond, making my stay in Montalchino that bit more special for that im very grateful.
Location couldn't be better, would strongly recommend staying here.
