The Mastrojanni farm was founded in 1975 when the Mastrojanni family decided to restore the two ancient estates of Loreto and San Pio on a hill not far from Castelnuovo dell’Abate, southeast of Montalcino. The estates, originally ancient watchtowers, bear witness to the presence of the Etruscans and Romans, later becoming a medieval stronghold to defend the Via Francigena and the famous “Via dei Papi.” This location soon transformed into a country home with an adjoining winery, and in 2011, a new restoration project brought new life to the village. In 2019, the gates of Mastrojanni Relais opened, a place imbued with spirituality and strength.
Mastrojanni Relais today offers eleven cozy and elegant rooms and suites, along with a stunning infinity pool overlooking the valley of Mount Amiata. Every detail is carefully and thoughtfully designed, where modern design blends seamlessly with the elegance of the ancient walls of the village, offering unique views. Here, nature and human craftsmanship come together in a unique landscape of harmonious vineyards, olive trees, and woods of holm oaks and oaks. The restaurant opens onto a charming terrace that offers breathtaking views. The atmosphere, enriched by the vibrant colors of the artist Vittorio Corsini, is refined yet welcoming—perfect for pleasantly immersing oneself in the tranquility of the place, whether with a glass of wine or a good book. The cuisine celebrates recipes that evolve with the seasons, favoring fresh ingredients from the garden and carefully selecting raw materials from local producers.
