We are a former ice cream maker and a former English teacher with four adult children. Arrived at the threshold of retirement we decided to leave the city and our jobs and buy this large house and start the adventure of hospitality. We love simple things and we love the traditions and culture of our area. Exactly for this reason many furniture and objects in Castellaccio are rustic and recall the past.

The Castellaccio is a large ancient stone house of medieval origin, we've recently renovated. It is located in a hilly place, 500 meters above sea level, just above the village of Albavilla. It is surrounded by woods and has a priceless view of the Brianza plain, and in the distance it sweeps up to Milan and the Ligurian Apennines on clear days. IMPORTANT DETAILS: - The rooms are on the first floor and can be reached by a short flight of stairs, so unfortunately the property is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. - WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF THE CAR to reach it, being UPHILL about 2km from the village of Albavilla along the road leading to the Alpe del Vicerè. The distance to the nearest bus stop is about 2km. - By law we're just allowed to serve breakfast, so we’re sorry, but we can't sell any other food or drinks. Guests can anyway bring their own food and in case we can provide cutlery, plates, glasses and a microwave. - The nearest restaurant is 1,5 km down in the village. - Finally, we would like to point out that, although we love animals very much, out of respect for all our guests, we do not allow dogs or other pets on our premises

Our "Castellaccio" is located in upper Brianza, about 10 km from Lake Como, in a hilly position (600 m.a.s.l.) on the slopes of Mount Bolettone (1300 m.a.s.l.) a few minutes from "Alpe del Viceré" (900m.a.s.l.) at the foot of the Larian Triangle. You can easily reach the main locations on both branches of Lake Como or the smaller lakes of Brianza. The surroundings offer great opportunities for walking, trekking, climbing or mountain biking. Ten minutes uphill, at Alpe del Vicerè there is the "Jungle Raider Park" adventure park of Albavilla, with tree paths for all ages; all around woods and lawns with picnic areas and dining options. Our structure is just a few minutes by car from the village of Albavilla, but being on a uphill position we suggest the use of the car .
