If you want to experience Padua as a "Paduan" and not as a simple tourist, choose to wake up in the most characteristic district of the city within a complex inhabited by Paduans and university students. The apartments have independent access and reveal an internal courtyard with a garden immersed in tranquility but, as soon as you are outside the door, you can get involved in the liveliness of the village. The two-room apartment is furnished in an industrial style with some classic contamination: you will be able to observe glimpses of antiquity in a modern and never banal context. It is particularly suitable for couples of friends or families with children (small and large). Older children will love sleeping on the loft bed while newborns will have a changing table with a convenient wash basin for cleaning and (on request) cot, stroller, microwave sterilizer, aerosol machine and much more. This area, formerly one of the most popular and animated in Padua, maintains its liveliness due to its proximity to the University Institutes. In the neighborhood you can breathe history and joy. In the adjacent square, recently built, you can admire Porta Portello, built in 1518. It is considered the most sumptuous and important of the Paduan gates that give access to the city and is the most beautiful work created by the Venetian Republic. You can admire the staircase of the ancient port that connected Padua to Venice, also immortalized in a painting by Canaletto, which was the starting and boarding point for the Riviera del Brenta. From here the famous Burchiello started and still leaves to visit the most beautiful Venetian villas of the Riviera up to the San Marco's basin in Venice. As for fun, the Portello is full of bars, restaurants and life. Depending on the period, you may be lucky enough to come across a typically Paduan, cheerful and goliardic graduation celebration. At any time of the year, however, you will be able to meet the local merchants and residents who are always available and open to welcome, just like in the old town.
