After years of travelling and falling in love with the country's landscapes, food, and way of life, we finally made our dream come true — we found our own little corner of Italy right on the shores of Lake Iseo, in the charming village of Predore. We can't be here as often as we'd love to, so we decided to share this special place with fellow travellers. Lake Iseo is one of northern Italy's hidden gems, and Predore is the kind of village where time slows down in the best possible way. Predore & Lake Iseo – What to See and Do Predore is one of the most authentic villages on Lake Iseo's western shore — quieter than the tourist hubs, yet perfectly placed for exploring the whole lake. Built on ancient Roman foundations, the village has kept its stone-street charm while offering everything you need for a great stay. In the village Stroll through the historic centre and discover the 14th-century Torre Foresti, a medieval tower split vertically by time. The parish church of San Giovanni Battista and the small Romanesque church of San Giorgio (13th century) are worth a stop. Hidden beneath a historic mansion near Via Locatelli, you'll find remarkably well-preserved Roman thermal baths (Terme Romane) dating to around 210 AD — excavated in 2003 and open to visitors. For a rewarding climb, follow the 288 steps up to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve, with panoramic views over the lake. On the lake The port is just a short walk away — hop on a ferry to explore Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe and one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, completely car-free. The lakeside cycle path runs right through Predore, ideal for a leisurely ride along the water. Outdoor activities Predore sits at the foot of the hills, with direct access to trekking trails leading up to scenic viewpoints like Corno Buco. The surrounding mountains offer routes for all levels, from easy walks to more challenging hikes. Day trips Sarnico (8 min by car) charms with its Art Nouveau villas, lively waterfront bars and restaurants, and a boat rental scene. Lovere (25 min) is a refined lakeside town with a long promenade, art galleries, and excellent dining. Iseo town, the lake's main hub, hosts a vibrant Friday market and sits next to the Franciacorta wine region — Italy's finest sparkling wine country, perfect for a vineyard visit.
