The property offers a total of 10 sleeps in 5 double rooms (PLEASE NOTE the 5th room is only available for reservations for more than 8 guests, or on request for an extra). The property is not shared with other people, so we can say that it is at your sole use. All the bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning to allow a pleasant rest also in case of very hot weather, while the common areas do not have air conditioning available.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING: the property is an ancient building, dating back to the 13th century. The interior is very well kept and as you can see from the photos and you can read from several reviews (we have a 5 stars average!), it is clean and comfortable, the air conditioning is new and the kitchen is antique style, but modern. Nevertheless, all the furnitures are antiques, such as the beds, the sofa etc. If you are not that kind of person who likes such an historical and antique atmosphere, please do not book this property. We have great respect for everybody's personal taste, but we had guests who were disappointed because they were expecting modern space and atmosphere like the ones they could find in a 5 stars Hotel. We are not equipped with all the amenities you can expect from an Hotel, nor we pretend to be as an Hotel, we are an holiday house with some very original characteristics. Let me also say, more than original, I would say, unique. You can relax under the shadow of a centenary Watchtower which was built even before Christopher Columbus had discovered the Americas, but definitively you will not stay in a 5 stars Hotel. Our reviews have a 5 stars average rate but we are not a 5 stars hotel!!!

I'm Alberto, son of Marianna and Giorgio. My family has owned this property for many many years and I've been growing here as a child. However, things change, the life bring you elsewhere and sometimes it is difficult to combine living in such a property with the everyday routine of working life and family needs. But this is my property, a large part of my family history and memories are still there, and I want to keep all this still alive, until I can. I want to keep alive the property and share the unique characteristics of this place with the guests who appreciate it. It's not a great business, because of costs, personal efforts and Taxes, but the alternative would be to keep the property closed. By far I prefer to keep it open instead, and share my place and my memories with nice people like you. You can find other places to spend your vacations, they can be of course more or less nice depending by your preferences, at the end this area is one of the best in Italy and definitively you can't make a wrong choice in deciding to spend your holidays here. Nevertheless, there is something you can't get elsewhere apart from here: there is no other place where you can relax under the shadow of a centenary watchtower which was built even before Columbus was discovering the Americas!!! History and memories from a past ancient time pervade all the property. For those who appreciate it, it's a great added value which you can't find elsewhere.
The proximity to the sea is only 7 Km which allows a peaceful holiday in the countryside without giving up a daily beach life. In 10-20 mins you can reach the fashion shops area and beach of Chiavari and the beaches of the beautiful town of Sestri Levante.
Just 25 km away is the Natural Park of Portofino and San Fruttuoso, and in just 40 min. drive you can reach the famous Natural Park of Cinque Terre.
The city of Genoa with all his historical downtown (the oldest downtown of all Europe) can be reached in 45 mins, as well as the airport. Also you can reach Pisa in 1 hour and 1,5 hours Firenze. In 1 hour you can reach the very famous SERRAVALLE OUTLET, the largest fashion mall of all north Italy where you can make shopping in the flagship stores of the most exclusive Italian fashion houses. The Mereta Castle is also 2 hours from Milan and its Linate airport, and 2,5 hours from Milan Malpensa Airport.
Many other nice places can be easily reached with the motorway which is just 10 mins away from the property.
Also, many food shops and a mall are at just 10-15 mins from the property. Here you can find local food as well as wines, and any foodstuffs and beverages you can imagine. If instead you are looking for a more exclusive tasting experience of Italian and local food we can indicate you some very high quality food shops in the town of Chiavari where you can find really great products the quality of which exceeds any of your standard expectations.
