An evocative mansion of medieval origin adapted over the centuries has been both residence and noble workplace for watchmakers and jewelers. That’s the reason for the name “ Diamantino” (tiny diamond). Today it still contains a welcoming atelier for the art jewelry creation and unique pieces. Inside the mansion, you will discover some precious corners: the stained glass windows fully hand-painted by Marta Lanaro and the paintings of Leticia Lanaro. You have a privileged position from the room’s window with a view right by the gorgeous Piazza Dei Signori: from the right, the historical Astronomical Clock ( Orologio Astronomico), the oldest in Europe (XIV sec.), made by Jacopo Dondi Dall’Orologio, he was a teacher of medicine and astronomer at the historical University of Padua. In front, instead, the Palace of Gran Guardia: for its construction (1410 ca.), several medieval palaces were demolished resulting in today’s square. Our residence remained untouched. From the other rooms you have a suggestive view of the medieval roofs of our charming city. Just a few meters away, in Saint Lucia district, once stood the Andrea Mantegna’s house, a great Paduan artist.
