At 3,600 feet above sea level, the village is in a prime location — in under 10 minutes you can reach the Montepratello ski resort (Roccaraso), and also the town centers of Rivisondoli, Roccaraso, and Pescocostanzo. In just 20 minutes, you can also get to both Castel di Sangro and Sulmona (famous for its sugared almonds). There are two very comfortable queen bedrooms, plus a full-size pull-out sofa in the living room. —The first bedroom is partially carved into the rock, with a ceiling of small terracotta arches, well-lit by a window, and features a spacious, cozy queen bed with built-in storage drawers for clothes and other items. —The second bedroom also has a queen bed and a large glass door that opens to the outside. Two large built-in closets give you plenty of space to store jackets and clothing for your whole stay. —The bathroom includes a shower/tub combo with a rainfall head and handheld spray, a hair dryer, heater, mirror, several storage shelves, and a window. —The living area is a large open space with three central stone and terracotta columns — warm, inviting, and full of charm with its traditional rustic architecture. —The built-in kitchen is roomy and well-equipped, with wooden shelves and countertops, a hand-carved stone sink, and everything you need: stove, oven, built-in fridge, range hood, a full set of pots, pans, dishes, utensils — and a solid chestnut wood table that extends to seat up to 8 people. —In the living room, there’s a beautiful wood-burning fireplace that creates a magical atmosphere — perfect during a classic winter snowfall, with a cup of hot cocoa and a good movie for the ultimate cozy experience. There’s also a back room stocked with firewood for the fireplace, which you can also use to store your skis, bikes, and other gear.

In the town, there’s also a visitor center on the main street, a bar, two restaurants, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and a post office — all within easy walking distance. Right from the town, you’ll find amazing trails for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing, where you can enjoy stunning scenery and maybe even spot deer, roe deer, squirrels, and more.
