Campofelice di Roccella is a very popular seaside destination thanks to its beautiful beach which can be easily accessed from the seafront promenade. With its 10 km of length, it ranks among the first places among the longest and most beautiful beaches in Sicily. From Campofelice beach it is possible to witness a quite rare natural spectacle: the green ray. It is an optical phenomenon visible on summer evenings when, at sunset, the sun radiates a green light beam that remains in the sky for a few seconds, long enough to distinguish it from the reddish light on which it stands out. Among others, Jules Verne was also inspired by this phenomenon by naming one of his novels after it.
