Welcome to Glamping La Ghianda! Our brand new (2023) property is situated on the "Monte Amiata" hill, on close distance from cities such as Pitigliano and Sorano in the south of Tuscany. The accommodation consists of two spacious and luxurious Glamping tents, both on a respectable distance from each other. Both Glamping tents are fully equipped with necessities such as its own kitchen and tools, private bathroom, Wi-Fi, flatscreen and airconditioning. Guests will be residing in a very silent and peaceful area, with lots of nature, green and plants. Hi! My name is Monica van Dijk and since 2021 I am the proud owner of an amazing place in between the hills near Elmo. Apart from a private house, the property has a small olive yard and a large forest plot. Over the past years I've become more and more excited to share the place with other people. With the finalization of two spacious and cosy glamping tents on the edge of the forest plot this wish is finally coming true. I can't wait to share my experience on this place full of rest and authenticity with you.

The first place that we recommend to visit is Pitigliano, a so called “borgo del tufo” meaning that the town was carved out of tuff stone in the Etruscan times. The town is full of their traditional on tuffstone-built houses and surrounded by an immense and beautiful landscape, full of restaurants, bars and shops (antiques, clothing, art). Pitigliano is also called “little Jerusalem” for their many locals offering refuge for escaping Jews during the WWII. Several points of interest are the ghetto, the jewish bakery, and synagogue close to the square. Close to Pitigliano two other ancient villages are also very popular and worth mentioning; Sovana and Sorano. Sorano is a small town with many nice restaurants and little shops. The panoramic terrace offers a nice place to have an aperitivo or dinner. Places of interest are the several old city gates, the Orsini fortress and the Masso Leopoldino. Sovana is the last town, formerly an important middle aged city, that we strongly advise to visit, because of its cathedral (dei Santi Pietro e Paolo) and several churches at the square.
