Cavalese, the capital of the Val di Fiemme, lies on a sunny terrace facing the Lagorai chain. The characteristic bell tower of the church of San Sebastiano dominates the town. In the historic center you can find craft shops, typical local products, sports and casual clothing, pubs, wine bars, lounge bars, restaurants, taverns, period buildings, elegant villas and characteristic little squares. Cavalese has an ice rink where you can also skate in summer and a brand new municipal swimming pool with internal and external hydromassage tubs. The Alpe Cermis ski lifts depart from the town and take skiers and hikers towards spectacular high-altitude panoramas. The facilities also allow you to reach the valley floor which in summer is crossed by the Dolomite cycle path and in winter by the Marcialonga cross-country track. A few steps from the center there is the Parco della Pieve where you can enjoy moments of tranquility and walk comfortably.
