"Fun walking the boardwalk along the lake. Rented Hobie Cat near the hotel, lots of fun. Lake gets really windy in afternoon, excellent sailing/windsurfing, etc. Restaurant at hotel is exceptional. Walking distance to center of town. Really nice place. Highly recommend it!"

"We came to Bolzano specifically to visit the "Oetzi" museum and weren't disappointed. I highly recommend anyone visiting in the norther Italy, southern Germany, mid-Austria area, take the time to come see this incredible museum and Oetzi himself. We also enjoyed the Reiten cable car and train rides up in the mouintains. Bolzano does pretty much close down on Sunday's so plan your visits for other days."

"We had a one night stopover here but wish we could have stayed longer. Loved watching the kite and wind surfers on the lake. Cute shops, nice walking area along the shore. Gorgeous views. Wish we’d had time for a boat trip on the lake. The spa was lovely and having it to ourselves for an hour was a treat. The hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. Valet parking was free! Food was delicious!"

"Merano is a very charming town--an old provincial capital. We walked throughout the town and everything was inspiring. One of the main shopping streets was having construction at the time but we loved the shopping, the church, the river through town--all was excellent."

"It is a old Medieval town and fun to walk around and explore, take pictures and eat. It is a very walkable city. We came by train. It is not a far walk into town or our hotel. We also took a bus to see Seceda Mtn. That is mind blowing! Worth the trip! I would check it out on YouTube. It was just too beautiful. It takes 20 mins on lifts to make it to the top."

"Selva di Val Gardena is really a sports town -- not much to do unless you hike, bike or ski. But if you love sports, its the place to be. A never ending number of trails and adventures await you. The amazing view with the ability to enjoy the fresh crisp air. I loved the layout of our room, with the closet area built in between the bathroom and mattress but has a wall for privacy. The small towns are 5-10 min drive away. The TV was a good size and had a few English programs. The spa area was an excellent experience, enjoyed the tea. At first I thought the heat in the room kept turning on itself, but then I realized our room was directly above the heated pool and saunas. Heat rises 😅

This hotel remains the best for me in the area, second year in a row we are here. Rooms are renovated, staff is super hospitable, breakfasts are great, but as always cherry on the top is dinner, so half board is a must here. Chef is amazing and surprises you with amazing dishes every day. Great location, a lot of interesting places around.

This is the highest value for money we ever had. The hotel is located on the top of the hill, with an amazing view of the green fields. The food is nothing but PERFECT, we waited every day for the dinner to come!! Amazing amazing amazing!! Outside pool was really nice, gym is small but packed with dumbells and multi trainer. Indoor pool and jaccuzi were very good, the jacuzzi can be warmer, but it was ok. The landscape and food are the most incredible advantages of this hotel, we didnt want to leave! A big thanks to Fabian and Philip, and the women waitress was very kind! If we ever arrive at the Dolomites again, we will definitely come back!!!

Everything there from the moment you walk in through the door until the time you leave is first class, top shelf. I had half board and the dinner is excellent with endless choices. The waitstaff are wonderful, especially Giuseppe! He made me feel at home. I am an older, woman traveling alone and he was very attentive to make sure I had what I needed. The “Robe Tunnel “ is fabulous. Great towels, great robes. I could go on and on.

I had a wonderful stay. It was absolutely spotless, very close to the lake, and there’s an amazing ice cream shop right in front of the building. The host was truly kind and supportive, and it just happened to be my birthday. She surprised me with a gift, which was so thoughtful. The location is fantastic, and there's even a rooftop with a breathtaking mountain view. Perfect for anyone who loves relaxing and taking in the scenery.

Bozen is a town close to Dolomites.

Bozen is a town close to Dolomites. Straight connection Bus from Bozen Bahnhof goes to Dolomites. The Stop to Dolomites in Ortisei is "St. Ulrich, Antoniusplatz". At this stop you have cable cars to Seceda, Alp de Suisi and the Funicular to St. Ulrich - Raschötz. Starting early morning can make it possible all in one day. I did all these 3 destinations in one day starting from Bolzano. Go to the top of Bolzano with a local cable car. Buy a Sudtirol 1day or 3 day ticket. I bought 3 day ticket which is valid 100s of kilometers in Süd tirol region. Bolzano is cost effective place to live.

Fantastically located town, really close to some amazing mountains, and brilliant walking country - everything was well signposted, there are lots of walks you can do by taking a cable car up one way and walking down to a bus stop, etc. Public transport was also really good (buses especially seemed much better than in a lot of Italy).

Nago has amazing views of the lake and the nearby towns of Torbole, Arco and Riva del Garda. The town itself has very little to offer, other than being relatively near all the other places you would want to visit, but it a main thoroughfare between the lake towns and Rovereto and the main route back to Verona, so traffic in and out of Nago is very bad in high season.

Ortisei is a beautiful, spotlessly clean and wonderfully well-kept town, full of colourful flowers, lovely shops and excellent restaurants. It has a great atmosphere and feels very safe for an evening stroll, while during the day there’s so much to see and do. A fantastic place for families and the perfect base for exploring the Dolomites, with incredibly easy access to the mountains.

Of course.

Of course. Your original text has a lovely personal feeling, so I’d keep that rather than making it sound like a generic travel review. I’d polish it like this: Santa Cristina in Val Gardena was a wonderful place to stay, and I’m so glad I chose it. It is a relatively small and peaceful village, perfectly located between Ortisei and Selva di Val Gardena. Accommodation also seemed more affordable than in Ortisei, which was another advantage. Although Santa Cristina doesn’t have as many shops or restaurants as Ortisei or Selva, it has everything you need, and I really enjoyed the quieter atmosphere. I especially loved the beautiful mountain views and falling asleep at night listening to the sound of the river. The weather was fantastic throughout my stay. I had brought jackets and warmer trousers expecting cooler mountain weather, but I hardly needed them! One of my favourite things was the old railway path connecting Santa Cristina with Ortisei and Selva. It is beautiful and incredibly useful for walking, running and cycling, with lovely views along the way. I explored many of the little towns and villages around the Dolomites and absolutely loved the whole area. The public transport is excellent too, with very regular buses making it easy to reach different places and trailheads for hiking, trail running or cycling without needing a car. I travelled here as a solo female traveller and hiker and had an amazing experience. I felt very comfortable exploring the area independently and loved the freedom of being able to access so many beautiful places by foot and public transport. I will definitely be back. Next time I would love to do even more hiking and trail running — and bring my bike to explore the Dolomites on two wheels! 🏔️🥾🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️ Santa Cristina was a perfect base for me: peaceful, beautiful, well connected and surrounded by incredible mountains.

Vipiteno doesn’t look much until you park your car and wlak 2 minutes into the old town centre. Then its a joy to wander around, Vaulted arcades show off fine shops with lovely good at excellent prices, clothing, pottery, painting. We ate at Hotle Golden Kreuse where their pasta was cooked fresh and was delicious. The main road is a pedestrian precint leading to a tower and large square which was animated for the 21st June Musical festival. Shops continue then in old building several 100 years old for a lot of them making it a quaint quiet place to stroll. Its definitely worth the stopover and easy motorway access takes you to Bolzano and Brixen for Dolomite park access Definitely worth a stop, stayover a night for the evening charm of an older Italian town.
