The accommodation is in the hearth of Lucca’s countryside, in the middle of an organic farm that produces wine and olive oil: this is the perfect place for those looking for peace, rest and a quiet place to stay. “ L’orto dei Bruchi “ has three farmhouses that have been restored without modifying their rural retreat but maintaining the original style (stone walls, ceilings with wooden beams) called Leccio, name taken from the river that passes near by. All the houses have a separate entrance overlooking the garden, kitchen, living room, fireplace, bathroom. All rooms have wood-beamed ceilings, the windows overlook the beautiful panorama of the plain of Lucca. This family-run property provides barbecue facilities and the use of a pool
I've done so many interesting things in my life: Navy Helicopter Pilot, Farmer at Fattoria di Petrognano, Financial Advisor, Renewable Energy Specialist and now my wife and I have returned to stay at Petrognano, taking care of our guests. Luisa is also a waldorf teacher and I dedicate myself creating a synergic vegetable garden on the terraces next to our home with ancient varieties of vegetables, I home make bread i with antique grains and sourdough, I love cooking and with my wife we follow blues, jazz and folk music.
The Orto dei Bruchi is located: near the path of the Wine Route and the Olive Oil of the Colline Lucchesi and the itinerary of the six magnificent Villas located in the Comune of Capannori and Lucca. It is 8 km far from the town of Pescia (PT), famous for its nursery of olives, citrus, indoor plants and the production of cut flowers that exports in large quantities all over the world. 5 Km from Collodi (PT), a medieval village dedicated to the writer of Pinocchio's writer, Carlo Collodi. Here we find the aristocratic Villa Garzoni and the Pinocchio Park. 12 Km from Montecarlo (LU), a village dating back to 1333 surrounded by beautifully preserved walls. And finally, by the beautiful cities renowned for their rich history, beauty, culture and art: 12 Km from Lucca. 39 Km from Pisa. 70 Km from Florence.
