The house is located in the highest and most panoramic part of Monforte, near the following buildings: Palazzo Scarampi - The existence of an ancient castle is documented in 11th-century texts, but no visible traces remain. A "new tower" was built in 1225, and a deed was executed within the walls of the existing keep in 1277. It belonged to various local lords, first to the municipality of Alba and then to the Marquises of Carretto. Severely damaged in 1703 by the Savoyard troops who conquered it, it finally passed to the Savoy state in 1726 with the transfer of the so-called "imperial fiefs." The current Palazzo Scarampi was built by the del Carretto family after 1706 on the site of the previous manor and renovated in 1833. Horszowski Auditorium - Located in the historic center of the city, it was inaugurated in 1986 by pianist Mieczysław Horszowski. It is a natural amphitheater with perfect acoustics, created by the natural slope of the land. It features stepped stages with a stage formed by a surrounding wall and the entrance to the Scarampi Gardens. Since 1986, it has hosted concerts of the national jazz festival known as Monfortinjazz. It also hosts theatrical performances and film screenings. Oratorio di Sant'Agostino - This is the church of the Confraternity of the White Disciplinanti. It can be presumed to date back to the late 17th century. In Baroque style, the building features an exposed brick façade, divided into two orders, and is punctuated by four pilasters resting on a base. The large window at the top is decorated with terracotta elements. The hall-shaped interior contains a high altar and two side altars. A projecting, highly plastic cornice runs all around.
