The Baglio Perciata farm is located at the foot of the hill in the district of the same name, on the probable site of the fortified farm of Petra Perzata, 5 km from Camporeale. In this enchanted place , gateway to the Belice Valley, inhabited since prehistoric times ,time seems to have stood still. Here have left their traces Sicans, Elymians, Phoenicians and Greeks. The Belice Valley, now between the provinces of Palermo,Trapani and Agrigento ,having been frequented and populated since prehistoric times, because of its location along the "via del Mare" that connected the hinterland, , is a mine of archaeological sites and places to visit. In the Masseria area,on cozzo Perciata, there is a drilled monolith, which would mark the summer solstice.. This, the archaeologists explain , is a perforated stone that is about eight kilometers from the other of contrada Argivocalotto also astronomically oriented" which marks the winter solstice
Is managed by young entrepreneurs who produce ancient grains,chickpeas, lentils , olives and grapes and certify the organic authenticity .Caper plants offer in the month of May their fragrant and precious fruits that together with the plants of laurel, oregano ,sage,rosemary and lavender release into the air a kaleidoscope of Mediterranean scents .It certainly can not miss one of the typical elements of the 'insular habitat consisting of the thorny presence of prickly pears. These , to preserve the best fruits , in the first ten days of June are subjected to the ancient practice of "scozzolatura" performed strictly by hand to avoid damaging the plants . The organic vegetable garden, cared for by the owners, supplies the raw materials to the kitchen at the base of which is the use of oil produced on the farm from nocellara del Belice .'It is also possible to taste typical cheeses accompanied by good red wine syrah
A few kilometers away is the archaeological park of Mount Jato where you can admire the theater, the temple of Aphrodite the remains of an ancient Greek city In the same area, between the provinces of Trapani and Palermo, there are also the remains of two other Greek cities, Segesta and Selinunte. Historical records confirm the presence in the present site since 1355 , of the "castrum Petre Perzate " counted among the Sicilian feudal castles, while in 1409 is attested a fortified farm belonging to such Tobia da Tripuli who lived and cultivated those generous lands, with his people (Medieval Castles of Sicily, a guide to the island's castle itineraries) .
